1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Gigist website and platform (the "Service"), operated by Gigist ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Who can use Gigist
Gigist is currently in pre-launch and accepting waitlist sign-ups from prospective bookers and DJs in the United Kingdom. You must be at least 18 years old to join the waitlist or apply as a DJ. DJs applying to the platform must provide accurate identity, insurance, and professional information as part of our verification process.
3. The Gigist Verified standard
Every DJ accepted onto the platform must pass identity verification, hold valid public liability insurance, provide a verifiable track record, and undergo a mix quality audit. Gigist reserves the right to decline, suspend, or remove any DJ profile that does not meet, or ceases to meet, this standard.
4. Bookings
Once live, Gigist will facilitate bookings directly between bookers and verified DJs. DJs set their own rates. Gigist charges a commission on completed bookings, which will be clearly disclosed before a booking is confirmed. Gigist is a booking platform and is not itself a party to the performance agreement between booker and DJ.
5. Payments
Payments will be processed through a third-party payment provider (Stripe). By making or accepting a payment through the Service, you agree to that provider's applicable terms in addition to these Terms.
6. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellation and refund policies will be made available at launch and will be clearly displayed at the point of booking. Until launch, no bookings, payments, or refunds are processed through the Service.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by submitting false verification information, attempting to circumvent the platform to avoid commission, or using the Service for any unlawful purpose.
8. Intellectual property
All content, branding, and design on the Service, including the Gigist name, logo, and the Gigist Verified mark, is owned by Gigist and may not be used without prior written permission.
9. Limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gigist shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including the conduct of DJs or bookers met through the platform.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to waitlist members and, after launch, to registered users via email.
